After being presented in Bucharest, the personal exhibition "The Art of Stained Glass at 360 Degrees" signed by internationally renowned Oradea artist Amalia Verzea, has arrived in her hometown, at the Cris Land Museum, where it can be visited until May 10. The exhibition will later travel to Rome.

"I have been making stained glass all my life. Since 1983, when I graduated from university, this has been my main focus. I am an artist and an expert of the Ministry of Culture in the field of stained glass and its restoration. This is all I have done and all I have lived from. I opened my workshop in 1988 in Italy and 30 years later, in 2018, I moved to Bucharest, Romania," Amalia Verzea told AGERPRES on Friday.

The exhibition brings together 42 life-size prints of works created in Italy, 14 prints illustrating Romania's stained-glass heritage, and 22 original stained-glass pieces displayed on stands.

"The Art of Stained Glass at 360 Degrees" is the first exhibition in Romania dedicated exclusively to this monumental art, showcasing architectural stained-glass windows created for sacred and historical spaces, including works listed in the UNESCO heritage.

Among them are images of works made in Italy, such as those for the 'Madonna della Neve' Church in Castelletto sopra Ticino.

In Romania, the artist has contributed to stained-glass installations for numerous monuments and places of worship, including the Moon Church and the Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Oradea, the Probota Monastery, the Plumbuita Monastery, and the Cotroceni Palace.

A major highlight of her career is her intervention at the Constanta Casino, where she created a large Art Nouveau stained-glass piece inspired by sketches by architect Daniel Renard.

Visitors can explore nearly four decades of creation, brought together in one space: fused-glass and lead-mesh works alongside pieces made using the Dalle de verre technique and glass fusion, fields in which the AmaGa workshop was a pioneer in Italy.

Curated by Adina Rentea, the exhibition is open to the public from April 2 to May 10 at the Cris Land Museum in Oradea, in the temporary exhibition hall A1, and will later be presented in Rome.

Born in Oradea, Amalia Verzea is one of the leading figures in contemporary stained glass, with over 35 years of activity combining artistic creation and heritage restoration. A graduate of the National University of Arts in Bucharest and trained in traditional workshops in Italy, she has been running a workshop specializing in artistic stained glass, mosaics and restoration for sacred and historical monuments since 1988, together with her husband. Works produced there can be found in Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Nigeria, Algeria and Romania.

Amalia Verzea is a member of Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi Italia, an organization dedicated to the conservation of the world's stained-glass heritage, and an accredited expert restorer of the Romanian Ministry of Culture.
