NATO remains an essential pillar of Euro-Atlantic security, capable of reinventing itself and responding firmly to an increasingly unpredictable strategic environment, the former Deputy Secretary General of the Alliance, Mircea Geoana said on Saturday.
He sent a message on the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
''NATO Day is more than an anniversary - it is a moment of reflection on the essential role that NATO plays in a world marked by uncertainties, especially in a complicated year like 2026. My experience within the Alliance has confirmed to me that our strength lies in unity, adaptation and common values. Subject to extraordinary challenges from outside and inside, NATO remains an essential pillar of Euro-Atlantic security, capable of reinventing itself and responding firmly to an increasingly unpredictable strategic environment,'' Geoana wrote on Facebook.
