Romanian Gendarmerie Day will be marked on Sunday, in Carol I Park in the capital, through a series of events, the public being expected with demonstration exercises, an exhibition of military uniforms and promenade music.
The events will begin at 10:00 am, agerpres reports.
''We will have a day full of energy, spectacular demonstrations and many activities. Stands promoting the institutional image and educational offer await you, as well as the presentation of materials and means used in public order missions. If you like exercising, get into the rhythm at the Romanian Gendarmerie cross-country track or, for a dash of adrenaline, the zip line awaits you. You will be able to watch demonstration exercises with the Gendarmerie's horses and dogs. Discover the materials used in anti-terrorist interventions and the special equipment of divers and paratroopers and don't miss the self-defense demonstration exercises. And because we like to combine tradition with the present, we invite you to discover the exhibition with the period military uniforms of the Gendarmerie and listen to a concert with promenade music. And finally, don't miss the drill exercises of the Guard of Honor. In short, it is the day when we get to know each other better'', shows a video message posted on the Gendarmerie's Facebook account.
Friday marked 176 years since the founding of the Romanian Gendarmerie, an institution with a solid history and an essential role for both citizens and the state.
