Senate President Mircea Abrudean said on Monday, during a meeting with Mihai Mitu, the new ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Bucharest, that the two countries enjoy a friendship that goes "beyond image or diplomatic relations".
"I welcomed the ambassador today, wishing him a successful term and assuring him of Romania's unequivocal political support for the Republic of Moldova's European path. Our countries have excellent, long-standing bilateral relations and a friendship that goes beyond image or diplomatic relations. We discussed our joint projects, particularly in energy and security. The region needs stability and a climate of trust for investors. Dialogue in the defense and defense-tech fields has intensified recently, and these collaborations must be encouraged," Abrudean wrote on Facebook.
He noted that around 1,600 Romanian companies are registered in the Republic of Moldova.
"It is very important to support Romanian investors and create favorable conditions for them, so they feel comfortable and safe," Abrudean added.
