Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader Liviu Dragne announced that a government reshuffle of the ministers from PSD will take place within a National Executive Committee (CExN) to be organised after the referendum for the redefinition of family.
"As regards the reshuffle, I have talked to my colleagues as to when they consider it should be done and they almost unanimously said after the referendum. That means that until then...Anyway, Mrs. Prime Minister has started an assessment of the ministers which is underway and after the referendum, we will have a National Executive Committee that will decide who on behalf of the Social Democratic Party or on the Social Democratic Party's seats gets to stay in the Government and who doesn't," Liviu Dragnea stated on Friday evening at the end of PSD's CExN meeting according to Agerpres.
Asked whether Deputy Prime Minister Paul Stanescu should remain in the Government, the PSD leader replied "I will express my opinion then."
Liviu Drganea announced in context that "good communication skills" will henceforth be one of "the mandatory qualities" for a minister to remain member of the Government.
"What is very important, as far as I am concerned, and I will imperatively ask for that Executive Committee and I will also ask Mrs. Prime Minister, that one of the mandatory qualities that the members of the Government must have is good communication skills. It is not a fad, it is an obligation of each member of the Government to communicate to the citizens what he/she does for them in the relevant field of activity. (...) But if he/she does not have the quality of a good communicator, from my point of view they shouldn't stay in government The ministers who hide, the ministers who are afraid of the press, who are afraid to go to television shows cannot be part of a cabinet It is a political cabinet, people have the right to know what the Government is doing for them. I no longer want to be the spokesperson of the ministries. Each minister should say what he/she has to do, they don't need to invent, the governing programme is very well structured, very clear, they just need to communicate the decisions they have made and, if they make bad decisions, they should assume responsibility," the PSD leader underlined.
He specified that he can never doubt Prime Minister Viorica Dancila's stance.
"Mrs. Viorica Dancila is a very balanced, responsible, loyal and honest woman. Her concern was and still is to preserve the Government, the parliamentary majority, this was the reason why she hasn't gone public these days. (...) Good thing she hasn't. She still has my full support, she has PSD's full support, at least at a declaratory level. After the reshuffle we will certainly talk about the ministers who will be leaving, who will be staying and so on and so forth," the PSD leader said.
Asked whether he intends to carry out oustings in case attacks on him continue, Dragnea replied: "The problem does not rest with me. It hasn't been easy for me to block this initiative today."
