The National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party (PNL) adopted, on Monday evening, a resolution saying that the party supports governmental stability and the Ilie Bolojan Government and demands that the Social Democratic Party (PSD) observe the coalition agreement and the governing partners and return to a responsible attitude.
"This evening, the National Political Bureau of the PNL adopted a resolution that reaffirms the direction of governmental stability and responsibility in a difficult economic and political context and establishes the lines of action in the coming period", a PNL press release reads.
According to the adopted resolution, "Romania is in a difficult moment: complicated international context, excessive deficit, pressures on the uptake of the NRRP and a fragile economy".
"In this context, the country needs governmental stability and predictability. At the same time, the tensions generated by the PSD in the Coalition are likely to reduce governmental efficiency and decrease citizens' trust in the Coalition," the document states.
The resolution mentions that, given all that, the PNL will act for "good governance and stability" and for "efficient and stable governance, with the following priorities for 2026: stability of public finances, energy security, efficiency in administration, absorption of European funds and implementation of national projects, competitive economy on sound foundations."
"The PNL supports governmental stability and the Ilie Bolojan Government," the document also states.
The liberals demand that the PSD "return to a responsible attitude."
"The PNL demands that the PSD observe the coalition agreement and the governing partners and to return to a responsible attitude. If PSD provokes a government crisis, PNL will no longer be able to be in Coalition with PSD," the resolution adopted by PNL also states.
