Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan began his visit to Brussels on Wednesday evening with a meeting with the MEPs of the parties in the ruling coalition.
The meeting took place at the office of the Romanian Representation to the European Union. According to a government report, the following MEPs came out: Vasile Dincu, Vlad Voiculescu, Daniel Buda, Maria Grapini, Mircea Hava, Rares Bogdan, Virgil Popescu, Dragos Benea, Adina Valean, Siegfried Muresan, Dan Motreanu and Iuliu Winkler.
Discussions at the meeting focused on the agenda of Thursday's meetings in Brussels.
The prime minister presented the main topics of discussion, from the recovery of EUR 231 million from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), after the passage of the reform of the special pensions of magistrates, to the SAFE program, the fiscal-budgetary situation of Romania and the measures taken to narrow the government deficit.
Also, two ordinances adopted at Tuesday's government meeting on economic recovery and administration reform were brought up for discussion.
On Tuesday evening, at a news conference at the Romanian Government House, Bolojan said that the main topics he will address with European officials in Brussels are the release of the EastInvest mechanism programme, the multiannual financing framework for the coming years and the absorption of funds under PNRR.
