President Nicusor Dan will participate on Friday, via videoconference, in the meeting on the Strait of Hormuz Maritime Freedom of Navigation Initiative, at the invitation of President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Keir Starmer.
The meeting will begin at 15:00, the Presidential Administration announced.
French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will co-chair on Friday, in Paris, a videoconference of non-belligerent countries prepared to contribute to a multilateral and purely defensive mission in the Strait of Hormuz, as announced on Tuesday by the Elysee Palace, according to AFP and DPA.
A Downing Street spokesperson confirmed the organisation of a summit to move towards a coordinated and independent multinational plan to protect international maritime transport once the conflict has ended.
