Over half (51%) of Romanians in the workforce feel relatively confident about keeping their jobs, while 35% say they are not confident about finding a new one, according to the fourth edition of the Consumer Trust Barometer conducted by research and consulting agency Exact Business Solutions.

The survey shows that just over 40% of young people aged 18 - 30 are confident they can keep their jobs, compared with more than 50% in the mature segments.

Confidence in finding a job remains low across all age groups, but is higher among mature employees (40% in the 46 - 65 segment) compared with younger workers (35%).

"The perception of AI's impact on the workplace remains stable, with no significant differences between age groups. AI is no longer seen as a direct and immediate threat, but rather as a natural evolution of the professional environment. The public appears to have moved past the initial alarm phase. Artificial intelligence is increasingly accepted as part of professional reality, not as an imminent risk," the survey concludes.

The results indicate that at the end of 2025 Romanian employees were neither panicking nor fully at ease.

"This context can create an opportunity for employers: retention may become more important than aggressive talent attraction. Transparent communication, predictability and a sense of security are key to maintaining employee trust. At the same time, the stable perception of AI's impact suggests the moment is favorable for responsible integration of AI, accompanied by education and upskilling rather than alarmist messages. Employees are more open to adaptation when they understand technology's role as a supportive tool, not a threat," the report's authors note.

The 2025 Consumer Trust Barometer is conducted periodically on a sample of 500 interviews, representative of the commercially active population (aged 18 - 65, urban residents, with secondary or higher education, internet users).

The fourth edition was carried out between November and December 2025 on 500 respondents, with data compared against previous editions in May, July and September 2025.
