Deputies' Chamber Speaker Liviu Dragnea on Tuesday stated that the Government could adopt the budget draft for 2018 by November 29, so that the parliamentary committees to be able to start the debate immediately after Romania's National Day [December 1].
"I spoke with my colleagues from the Government and the coalition. They practically have the budget draft completed. However, there is this procedure saying that the decision regarding the increase of the minimum salary, currently facing a decisional transparency, must be observed, and it seems like the very same day when this is done can also become the day of the adoption of the necessary normative act, including the budget draft, that is November 29," Liviu Dragnea said in Parliament.
He also added that the parliamentary committees could be able to start the debate in the week following Romania's National Day.
"I remember that we adopted the budget very fast this year (in Parliament - editor's note). Once it's here (in Parliament - editor's note), we will make the calendar. If it's here on November 29 probably the next day there will be submitted the amendments and in the week after the National Day the committees could start the debates," underscored Liviu Dragnea.
