Defence Minister Miruta in Berlin; meeting with German counterpart scheduled for Wednesday

Minister of National Defence Radu Miruta, on an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, will meet his German counterpart, Boris Pistorius, on Wednesday.

Radu Miruta is part of the official delegation accompanying Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to Berlin, until 29 January.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, the minister's programme includes a bilateral meeting with his German counterpart, Boris Pistorius.

The talks will focus on defence cooperation priorities between the two countries, the role of Romania and Germany in ensuring stability and security on NATO's Eastern Flank, as well as the need to develop and intensify high-level strategic defence dialogue in response to a dynamic and continuously evolving security environment, the source said.

Following the meeting, the two defence ministers will hold a joint press conference.

The prime minister's delegation also includes General Gheorghita Vlad, Chief of the Defence Staff, and Major General Ion-Cornel Plesa, Head of the General Directorate for Armaments within the Ministry of National Defence.
