Voluntary pension funds had assets worth 6.10 billion lei at the end of May 2025, up 21% compared to the level recorded in the same period last year, reads a report of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF).
"Most investments were made locally (95%), most of which were denominated in lei (88%)," the report states.
The value of contributions transferred in May was 77.7 million lei, while the average contribution was 169 lei.
Government bonds held the largest share of assets, 3.89 billion lei, or 63.8%, followed by shares, 1.57 billion lei (25.8%). Investment funds ranked third in this regard, with 214.39 million lei, or 3.5% of the total assets, Agerpres informs.
According to the ASF data, voluntary pension funds numbered 899,342 participants in May 2025.
The following pension funds are active on Pillar III: Azt Moderato, Azt Vivace, BCR Plus, Pensia Mea Plus, Esential, NN Activ, NN Optim, Pensia Mea, Raiffeisen Acumulare and Stabil.
