The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 5.8% in July 2025, down 0.2 percentage points from June 2025, according to data published Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The unemployment rate among men exceeded that of women by 0.5 percentage points, at 6% for men and 5.5% for women.
The estimated number of unemployed persons aged 15-74 in July 2025 was 471,200, a decrease from 490,100 in June 2025, but an increase compared with 468,800 in July 2024.
According to INS data, youth unemployment (ages 15-24) remains high, at 23.5% for the April - June 2025 period.
For adults aged 25-74, the unemployment rate was estimated at 4.7% in July 2025 (4.7% for men and 4.5% for women). Unemployed persons in this age group accounted for 76.1% of total unemployment in July 2025.
