Deputy Prime Minister Tánczos Barna declared on Wednesday in Petresti that the Government is working on an economic recovery package with a budget of one billion euros for large investments, a package that helps not only strategic investments, but also Romanian companies to invest more and to transform the Romanian economy from one based on consumption to one based on production.

"It is important that Romania, the Romanian Government, supports strategic investments. That is precisely why we have an economic recovery package. A package that helps not only strategic investments, but also Romanian companies to invest more and to transform the Romanian economy from an economy based on consumption to an economy based on production. The package is currently being worked on in the Ministry of Finance. It will probably enter the government meeting in the coming weeks and be approved," said Tánczos Barna.

The official added that it is a package that helps both the manufacturing and mineral extraction industries, supports small and medium-sized companies, SMEs in Romania to have capital for investments and to transform the Romanian economy.

The Deputy Prime Minister also referred to the budget for this economic recovery package, but also how it will be put into practice.

"We will have a budget of 1 billion euros for large investments. We have several hundred million lei for small investments. There are different components. There are also components that will support interest rates to have loans with state-guaranteed guarantees and subsidized loans. There will also be grants that help large companies come to Romania. It is a totally different, new approach that will certainly help Romania's economic recovery," said Deputy Prime Minister Tánczos Barna.

The statements were made in Petresti, Dambovita County, where an event was held to mark the start of work on a defense industry production capacity. Hanwha Aerospace has started construction of a local factory in Romania to produce K9 self-propelled howitzers and K10 ammunition refueling vehicles. Thus, the European production unit of the South Korean company Hanwha Aerospace will be in Dambovita County.

"Supporting the defense industry will be part of the economic recovery package. Certainly, in a world that is constantly developing, that must face challenges, including in the military and defense fields, Romania must be active on this market, it must have investments, it must be capable of producing such equipment and, why not, be an exporting country of such technologies and equipment. Support for the arms industry is also needed in Romania," said Deputy Prime Minister Tánczos Barna.
