Romanian Simona Halep is no longer in Women's Tennis Association (WTA) top 3 for the first time since 16 February 2015. The WTA ranking published on Monday places her fourth, after four defeats and only three wins in 2016.
The last time Halep was demoted to WTA No 4, she returned to No 3 within one week, on 23 February 2015.
American Serena Williams is still world's undisputed No 1, followed by German Angelique Kerber and Polish Agnieszka Radwanska.
Italian Roberta Vinci, 33, is the oldest to ever enter WTA's top 10 for the first time.
