Leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Marcel Ciolacu submitted his candidacy, on Saturday, for the position of President of Romania, in which context he specified that he comes with a plan for the country, a political creed and a moral commitment, noting that power must sit at the table with the opposition, Agerpres reports.

"I decided today to submit my candidacy for the office of President of Romania after a long period, from my point of view, that the Romanians did not particularly want in the form that it occurred, because I want to remind you that in the past 20 years we have had 17 governments. This was the approach of the former presidents so that they could preserve their power and exercise greater power. They preferred this to the detriment of Romania and the Romanians. I think it's time to look at it with balance and responsibility this important office in the Romanian state," stated Marcel Ciolacu, after submitting, at the headquarters of the Central Electoral Bureau, the list of signatures for his candidacy for the presidential elections.

He said that he comes with a plan for Romania, with a political creed, that of uniting, and a moral commitment.

Marcel Ciolacu showed that he commits to ensure higher incomes and increase the purchasing power for Romanians.

"We are talking about the reindustrialization of Romania, we are talking about the completion of highways and the entire infrastructure in the field of education and health, we are talking about the dignity of Romanians in the diaspora," Ciolacu claimed.

The PSD leader opined that power must be shared, and a plan for Romania must be assumed by both power and the opposition.

"You can only do this by sitting at the table with both the government and the opposition, explaining why, after 30 years, we must draw a red line between the political struggle and the plan for Romania. You cannot have a political creed to unite if you don't have the ability to share power," said Marcel Ciolacu.
