Romania's Constitutional Court on Saturday decided with a majority of votes to admit the appeals filed by two persons and cancel the Decision of the Central Electoral Bureau no. 18/D of October 3, 2024, regarding the registration of the presidential candidacy and electoral logo of Diana Iovanovici-Sosoaca for the presidential election this year.
"After deliberations, the Constitutional Court, with a majority of votes, admitted the appeals filed by Mrs. Amalia Bellantoni and Mr. Mihai Gheorghe Ursa, and canceled the Decision of the Central Electoral Bureau no. 18/D of October 3, 2024, regarding the registration of the presidential candidacy and electoral logo of Diana Iovanovici-Sosoaca for the presidential election this year," informs the Constitutional Court, in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
The decision is binding and it shall be communicated to the Central Electoral Bureau.
The reasoning of the Constitutional Court's plenum will be presented within the Decisions, which will be published in the Official Journal, Part I.
On Saturday, the Constitutional Court discussed seven appeals against the registrations of certain candidates in the race for the office of president of Romania, in 2024.
