Managing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as Romania's financing priorities were among the topics of discussion held on Tuesday by Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca with the head of the European Commission Representation in Romania, Ramona Chiriac, agerpres reports.
The two officials discussed managing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and prioritizing health through the use of European funds through all the mechanisms made available to Romania as a member of the European Union, a Government release informed.
During the meeting, Romania's priorities regarding the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism were presented, the accession to the Schengen Area and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Also analyzed were the financing opportunities that Romania accesses as an EU member, the release reads.
Also, together with the Multiannual Financial Framework and the financing mechanisms allocated to the implementation of the European Green Pact, the essential role of the success of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan was highlighted. In this sense, recent progress has been made in preparing for the use of European financial instruments.
Expressing openness to the solid partnership between the Romanian Government and the European Commission, Chiriac conveyed willingness to dialogue and collaboration in implementing the assumed objectives, emphasizing the need for human resources, strengthening administrative capacity, and coordinating European-funded investments with national ones, reads the quoted release.
