The number of dissolved companies increased by 26.23% in the first 11 months of 2025, to 51,805, compared to 41,039 in the same period in 2024, according to data centralized by the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).
The most dissolutions were registered in Bucharest, namely 10,341 companies (number increasing by 26.62% compared to January-November 2024) and in the counties of Cluj (2,904 companies, plus 33.58%), Ilfov (2,684, plus 19.29%), Constanta (2,510, plus 13.17%), Timis (2,186, plus 18.87%), Brasov (1,922, plus 41.01%), Iasi (1,918, plus 21.24%) and Prahova (1,725, plus 34.35%).
At the other end, the fewest company dissolutions were recorded in the counties of Ialomita, respectively 274 (plus 29.25% compared to the first 11 months of 2024), Covasna (298, plus 38.6%), Mehedinti (349, plus 33.72%), Calarasi (351, plus 17.79%), Harghita (379, plus 0.26%) and Teleorman (387, plus 17.99%).
The most significant increases in the number of dissolutions were recorded in the counties of Maramures (plus 55.6%), Olt (plus 52.03%), Alba (plus 49.19%), Bihor (plus 44.93%) and Valcea (plus 43.73%). No county recorded a decrease in the number of dissolutions.
The field of activity with the most company dissolutions, in the period January-November 2025, is wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, where 11,433 dissolutions were reported at the national level. Compared to the previous year, dissolutions in this sector increased by 1.33%.
According to the cited source, construction, professional, scientific and technical activities and manufacturing are other fields of activity where a large number of company dissolutions were recorded, respectively 4,251 (plus 2.63%), 4,244 (plus 5.47%) and 3,530 (plus 2.98%).
In November, 4,888 company dissolutions were reported, most in Bucharest (945) and in the counties of Cluj (263), Timis (257), Ilfov (245) and Constanta (237).
