New car registrations in Romania fell by 3.6% in the first ten months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to preliminary statistics published on Monday by the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA), based on data from the General Directorate for Driving Licences and Vehicle Registration (DGPCI).
Between January and October 2025, the total number of new cars registered nationwide reached 120,836 units.
In October alone, new car registrations increased by 11.5% compared to October 2024, reaching 12,769 units, with fully electric cars reporting a rise of 86% and an 8% market share.
