The Romanian-Chinese pair Sorana Cirstea/Shuai Zhang qualified for the semifinals of the doubles event of the WTA 500 tennis tournament in Linz (Austria), with total prizes of 1,049,083 euros, on Thursday evening, by defeating the couple Miyu Kato (Japan)/Liudmila Samsonova (Russia) 6-3, 6-2.
Cirstea and her partner, the main seeds, achieved the victory in 65 minutes.
The Romanian-Chinese pair secured a cheque for 18,890 euros and 195 WTA points, and in the penultimate act they will face the couple Ulrikke Eikeri (Norway)/Quinn Gleanson (USA), seeded number four.
Cirstea is also qualified for the quarterfinals of the singles event, and will face Russian Mirra Andreeva, the main seed, on Friday.
