Secretary of State Raed Arafat announced on Thursday the launch of the "fiipregatit.ro"(beprepared) portal, where all the necessary information in emergency cases can be found.
Internal Affairs and Secretary of State Raed Arafat met on Thursday at the seat of the Internal Affairs Ministry (MAI) with Christos Stylianides, the European Commissioner in charge of Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, context in which the launch of www.fiipregatit.ro portal was announced.
"We did not want to let the Civil Protection Day go by without taking a further step in preparing the population. Thus, a unique portal was created, that the population will be able to access shortly, it is already active and in which the population can access all necessary information for emergency situations, for its preparation. Instead of searching on the IGSU [Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations, ed.n.] website, on DSU [Emergency Situations Department, ed.n.] website, we bring them all together and create a link [that sends to them, rd.n.] so one can enter 'fiipregatit' and can access these data. It is a step forward, together with the department's app, alongside the caravan which travels around. The Internal Affairs Ministry comes with IGSU, of course, which is the main institution which intervenes in these situations, takes a step further in preparing the population. (...) Our role is to be prepared and we have the responsibility to be prepared," Raed Arafat stated.
He said that this portal features, among other things, information about what a person needs to have inside the house in case of an emergency.
"It presents several aspects, more guides (...). There are many guides that will be supplemented. Many of them have visual support, with videos and there is also the survival kit and what this must include, showing what one has to have inside the house or in the survival backpack. So, it is meant for helping the population prepare before emergency situations occur," Arafat explained.
