The high risk of avalanches at over 1,800 meters of altitude remains in the Fagaras Mountains, the warning being extended to the Bucegi and Sarcu-Godeanu massifs, according to the Snow-Weather Bulletin issued on Monday evening by the Sibiu Regional Weather Forecast Service.
In the Fagaras, Bucegi and Sarcu-Godeanu massifs, at altitudes of over 1,800 meters, "on the sloping slopes, there will be a risk of triggering medium and large avalanches".
The highest snow layer was measured at the stations at Omu summit in the Bucegi Mountains (154 centimeters) and at Balea Lac in the Fagaras Mountains (88 centimeters), the cited source informs.
