The Government on Tuesday approved the final form of the draft law on magistrates' pensions, without modifications, the spokesperson for the Executive, Ioana Dogioiu, informs.

"Today's extraordinary meeting's agenda included the draft law on the modification and supplementing of certain normative acts in the field of service pensions. Thus, the Government analyzed the modifications submitted by senators and deputies within the procedure under which Government assumes responsibility for a certain law. More precisely, the Executive analszed the 42 modifications (...), rejected all of them, and adopted the final version of the draft law, with the prime minister to pledge the Government's responsibility on it, this afternoon, in Parliament, in the special session dedicated to December 1 (National Day of Romania - editor's note)," Ioana Dogioiu told a press conference at the Victoria Palace.

On Friday, the Executive approved the new draft concerning the pensions of magistrates, which provides for the gradual increase of the retirement age to 65 years, with the final amount of the pension not to exceed 70% of the net salary received in the last month of activity.

The project will also apply to auxiliary staff in courts and prosecutors' offices, employees at the National Institute of Forensic Expertise, as well as assistant magistrates and legal personnel at the Constitutional Court.
