GCS: 70 deaths recorded in past 24hrs among COVID-19 patients; 60 in unvaccinated patients

A number of 70 deaths - 29 men and 41 women - recorded among the patients infected with the novel coronavirus have been reported in the past 24 hours, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Tuesday.

67 of the recorded deaths were of patients who had comorbidities, one patient did not show comorbidities, and for two patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

Out of a total of 70 patients who died, 60 were unvaccinated and ten were vaccinated. Vaccinated patients ranged in age from 40 to 49 to 70 to 79 years and had comorbidities.

Five of the 70 deaths reported occurred before the reference interval, in the counties of Bacau, Calarasi and Gorj, in December 2021.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 59,327 people diagnosed with a SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
