Another 12 Romanians infected with the novel coronavirus have died abroad - eight in Italy, two in France and two in the United Kingdom - bringing to 87 the total COVID-19 death toll of Romanians abroad, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus information task force, reported on Tuesday at noon.
According to GCS, 1,963 Romanian citizens overseas have been confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus: 1,247 in Italy, 560 in Spain, 28 in France, 30 in Germany, 69 in the United Kingdom, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg and Sweden.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 87 Romanian citizens abroad have died - 27 in Italy, 18 in France, 26 in the UK, 8 in Spain, 3 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one each in Sweden, Switzerland and the US.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 21 have been declared cured: 9 in Germany, 8 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia, says GCS.
