Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu on Thursday welcomed Swiss ambassador in Bucharest Urs Herren to review the latest developers in and prospects for the political and diplomatic dialogue between Romania and Switzerland,with the two voicing satisfaction over the positive developments in bilateral cooperation.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) says in a press statement that Comanescu highlighted the solidity of the Romanian-Swiss ties at a central level and also at the level of local communities. The Romanian chief diplomat also praised the Swiss officials for having lifted restrictions on Romanian workers seeking employment in Switzerland starting on June 1, 2016.
The importance of cooperation between the European Union and Switzerland was underscored by both officials, with Romania's support as an EU member state for a constructive dialogue between Switzerland and the European Union in all aspects of their relationship being reiterated.
"The meeting occasioned an exchange of opinions on current affairs on EU and the world's agendas. Minister Lazar Comanescu wished success to the next Swiss ambassador, assuring him of the Foreign Affairs Ministry' openness to further relations between the two countries," says MAE, according AGERPRES.
