Ciolacu changes plans, travels to Galati County to evaluate the situation caused by floods

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu, who was supposed to travel to the Botosani County on Saturday, canceled his political and governmental agenda for the day, to travel to the Galati County instead, where the recent floods caused a lot of problems, the Government Press Office reports.

The prime minister will discuss with the local authorities about the urgent intervention and support measures that need to be taken for the population and communities seriously affected by the floods, the same source says.

Five people were found dead in the Galati County because of the floods that hit the area in the past 24 hours, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations also informed on Saturday morning.

Localities in eight countries, Arges, Bacau, Buzau, Galati, Hunedoara, Neamt, Valcea and Vrancea, were affected by the heavy rainfalls in the past 24 hours: people died, the authorities were forced to conduct rescue operations and to evacuate people, many households were flooded.
