People who treated Romsilva as their own estate and are losing leadership positions following a transparent reorganization process are now contesting this process, claims the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu.

His reaction comes after, on Friday morning, the Silva Federation of Trade Unions announced that it was requesting in court the suspension of the reorganization measures of the National Forestry Administration - Romsilva.

"I understand that the Silva Federation is challenging the Government Decision regarding the reorganization of Romsilva in court. Shock. It surprises us that a process that has been highly debated for a year, transparent, in which management positions are lost by people who treated the institution as their own property, is being contested by those who are losing those positions. What does the Government Decision say? Reorganization, cutting unnecessary management positions, competitions for vacant management positions, signed mandate contracts and clearly established performance criteria. What does the Silva Federation demand? To suspend any competition. God forbid that competitions are held. God forbid that performance criteria are set. Oh, and all this, with the silence of the Romsilva management, which officially tells us, under the signature of the general director, Jean Visan, that it is not really interested in supporting the reorganization in court, which, by the way, it has assumed it," Diana Buzoianu emphasized, in a post on her Facebook page.

She added that all accusations brought by the Silva Federation of Trade Unions will be argued based on "decency and legality".

"I'm saying this: we will go to court and argue for decency and legality. We will not give in to the despair of the Romsilva leadership, which believes it will get away with incompetence and corruption for many more years," she said.

The Silva Trade Union Federation announced on Friday that it had filed a request with the Bucharest Court of Appeal to suspend the reorganization measures of the National Forestry Agency - Romsilva, since the Government Decision that includes them "was made without respecting the procedures and legal norms in force."

"On Thursday, April 2, 2026, I filed a request with the Bucharest Court of Appeal to suspend the execution of Government Decision no. 123/05.03.2026 regarding the approval of the reorganization measures of the National Forestry Agency - Romsilva. The promotion of this Decision was made without respecting the procedures and legal norms in force. Government Decision no. 123/05.03.2026 was adopted in violation of several laws, the requirements of decision-making transparency and the obligations regarding social dialogue. I have repeatedly warned, both publicly and institutionally, that we are facing an abuse by the leadership of the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests. An abuse masked by an aggressive propaganda campaign, intended to discredit the foresters' guild and to discredit any legitimate approach by defense of legality, whether we are talking about the norms regarding the adoption of government decisions or those regulating social dialogue," the trade union organization mentioned in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.
