Under the slogan "Be part of the tradition!", Brasov city will host from April 17 - 19 the Descent of the Juni and Brasov Days, with concerts, themed fairs and traditional events in Council Square and at Solomon's Rocks.
"St. Thomas Sunday brings Brasov's most heartfelt moment - the Descent of the Juni into the Citadel ('Horseback Day'), when the seven groups of horse-mounted 'juni', dressed in traditional costumes, ride down into the city and make their way to Solomon's Rocks for the popular celebration known as 'Among the Rocks'," the Brasov City Hall said in its invitation.
Locals and tourists are expected to attend Friday's "Blanket Toss", a traditional 'juni' game, followed by a special SymPhoenix concert with the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra. Saturday's program includes performances by Vunk, Larisa XO, DJ Altoo and DJ Mose N. On Sunday, the Descent of the Juni will be followed by a folk concert featuring Paula Hriscu, Mariana Anghel, Robert Tarnaveanu and several folk ensembles.
At Solomon's Rocks, the festive atmosphere will be kept alive throughout the day by the band Atomic.
The events are organized by the Apollonia Cultural Center, together with the Reduta Cultural Center and the Student Culture House, with support from Brasov City Hall.
