BNR's forex reserves increase to EUR 67.30 million in March 2026

As of March 31, 2026, the National Bank of Romania's foreign exchange reserves were standing at EUR 67,032 million, up from EUR 65,023 million on February 28, 2026.

During the month, the following flows were recorded: EUR 9,424 million worth of inflows representing: changes in credit institutions' foreign currency-denominated required reserves with BNR; inflows into the Ministry of Finance's accounts (including the amounts from the Ministry of Finance's Eurobond issues with a nominal value of EUR 3,000 million and USD-denominated Eurobonds of a nominal value of approximately EUR 1,731 million) and other; EUR 7,415 million worth of outflows representing: changes in credit institutions' foreign currency-denominated required reserves with the NBR; interest payments and principal repayments on foreign currency public debt (approximately EUR 638 million); payments from the European Commission's account and other.

The gold stock remained steady at 103.6 tonnes. However, following the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to EUR 13,246 million.

As of March 31, 2026, Romania's international reserves (foreign currencies and gold) were standing at EUR 80,278 million, up from EUR 79,639 million on February 28, 2026.

In April 2026, the payments due on the foreign currency-denominated public and publicly guaranteed debt amount to approximately EUR 365 million.
