Rangers from across Europe will gather in Moieciu, Brasov county, from October 6-10 for the 6th edition of the European Rangers Congress (ERC), which gatherers associations of professionals in nature protection and conservation.
The event is organized by the European Ranger Federation (ERF) in partnership with the Romanian Ranger Association (ARR) and the Foundation Conservation Carpathia (FCC). Among the invited guests are Minister of Environment, Waters and Forests Diana Buzoianu, Barbara and Christoph Promberger, the executive directors of the Conservation Carpathia Foundation, Mihaela Nastase, senior advisor at the National Agency for Protected Natural Areas, the director of the Piatra Craiului National Park and the chair of the Carpathian Network of Protected Areas Steering Committee, Mircea Verghelet and the president of the Kogayon Association and the Urban Nature Network, Florin Stoican, agerpres reports.
The Congress brings together rangers from European countries with a tradition in nature conservation, alongside researchers and specialists who will share their experiences, and this year's theme is "Rangers - the Voice of Nature. Building a Bridge between Local Communities and Nature Conservation," the Conservation Carpathia announced on Friday.
"The congress aims to address one of the greatest challenges of the modern world - finding a balance between the needs of local communities and those of nature conservation. In the context of climate change and the biodiversity crisis, the role of rangers is crucial. As protectors of nature, rangers explain to visitors the importance of conserving ecosystems and create sustainable connections between people and the environment," according to the Conservation Carpathia website.
