The cost of heating, but also the intention of the Bucharest City Hall to takeover ELCEN are among the topics that are to be approached, on Friday, during the working meeting announced at the Victoria Palace, which will be attended by Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, said for AGERPRES sources within City Hall.
According to the press bureau of the Executive, the discussions are to be attended by the Finance Minister, Adrian Caciu, Minister for Development, Public works and administration, Attila-Zoltan Cseke, Minister of Energy, Virgil-Daniel Popescu, Bucharest City Mayor Nicusor Dan and Constanta City Mayor Vergil Chitac.
On November 27, Nicusor Dan stated that he will have a meeting at the level of ministers - Finance, Development, Energy - regarding the takeover of ELCEN by the City Hall, stating he is optimistic that the parties involved will reach an agreement on the subject.
"There will be a meeting next week (...) which will be attended by the Finance Minister, the Development Minister and the Energy Minister, to see what the solution is. I am optimistic that we will reach a solution, because it's been a 15-year wait, so that the production, the transport and the distribution system be unified," said Nicusor Dan, at the end of the meeting he had at the Government with Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca.
Furthermore, the General Mayor showed, in a Facebook post, that Bucharest's Emergency is in regards to the cost of heating, given that prices have increased in the energy sector and that "a joint effort is desired" on the part of the City Hall, Government and citizens to cover these increases.
"With regards to the subsidy for heating, we will have an answer following an analysis that is done both for Bucharest, as well as for the other cities that asked for government support. It's a very important matter for Bucharest - even critical, starting with January. And, I say again, it's not the only problem of Bucharest, but also a problem that is had by the other large cities in Romania. We still need government support to maintain the financial balance of the City Hall, in order to manage to pay current works, tranches on old rescheduled debts and in order to overcome price increases," said the General Mayor.
