Voluntary pension plans had assets worth RON 7.42 billion at the end of December 2025, up 34% year-over-year, according to a report by the Financial Oversight Authority (ASF).
Most investments were made locally (95%), most of which were denominated in RON (87%).
According to ASF, the value of the contributions paid into in December was RON 92 million, with the average contribution standing at RON 181.
Government bonds made up the largest share of assets, at RON 4.69 billion and 63.2%. In second place were stocks and shares, at RON 2.06 billion (27.8%). Investment funds ranked third from this point of view,ay RON 245.84 million and 3.3% of total assets.
According to ASF data, there were 999,352 contributors to the voluntary pension plans in December 2025.
Operating on Pillar III mandatory pensions segment are Azt Moderato, Azt Vivace, BCR Plus, Pensia Mea Plus, Esential, NN Activ, NN Optim, Pensia Mea, Raiffeisen Acumulare, and Stabil.
