Deputy Bogdan Rodeanu of the Save Romania Union (USR) announced on Tuesday in the Chamber of Deputies plenary that the formation submitted a simple motion against Energy Minister Virgil Popescu.
"We hereby inform you that in accordance with Article 112 of the Constitution and Article 189 of the Chamber's Rules of Procedure we submit the simple motion titled 'Incompetence and lying cut off the power in Romania. 'Next week' Minister Virgil Popescu is a danger for Romania's energy security. The simple motion is initiated by the USR parliamentary group, according to the attached list," Rodeanu said.
Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marcel Ciolacu said that the due procedure is met, Agerpres.ro informs.
The Standing Bureau will now set the date for the debate on the motion.
