University of Oradea to host European Researchers' Night on Friday

The University of Oradea, a member of the EU GREEN European university alliance, will host the European Researchers' Night on Friday, between 17:00 and 22:00, at the city's Multipurpose Hall, the venue for what has been described as a "fascinating journey into the world of science," according to a press release issued by the university's Press Office.

According to the release, attendees can look forward to interactive workshops, amazing scientific demonstrations, unique experiments, lectures, presentations, and debates. Several faculties from the university will present dozens of experiments and games, all aimed at bringing science closer to the public.

At the European Researchers' Night, residents of Oradea are invited to explore a wide variety of scientific fields, ranging from chemistry, physics, biology, astronomy, engineering, robotics, cartography, archaeology, anthropology, ecology, financial education, to telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.

The progamme includes iInteractive presentations at stands, visits and guided tours of the latest laboratories and research facilities (18:00-19:00), free access to exhibitions at the Cris Country Museum in Oradea (15:00-17:00).

A special stand will be dedicated to the EU GREEN European Alliance, of which the University of Oradea is a member. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the six research clusters involving the university's academic staff: Health and well-being; Agriculture, food, and environmental sustainability; Engineering and technology for sustainable development; Sustainable tourism for cultural and natural heritage; Educational sciences for sustainable development; Biodiversity challenges and ecosystem function.

Held annually on the last Friday of September, European Researchers' Night 2025 takes place on 26 September, in 26 countries and over 400 European cities, including 18 locations in Romania. Part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie series of events, its aim is to show the public what it means to be a researcher and how exciting research work can be.
