Representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises and the National Agency for Fiscal Administration will work together to develop sector-specific inspection methodologies, aimed at ensuring the consistent and predictable application of tax legislation, IMM Romania announced on Tuesday, following a working meeting with ANAF President Adrian Nicusor Nica.
"Several issues of interest to the business community were addressed during the discussions, and the following priority directions were agreed: the development of sector-specific inspection methodologies through ongoing dialogue between ANAF and SME representatives, to ensure uniform and predictable application of tax legislation in areas such as agriculture, trade, automotive services, security and protection services, among others; the proposal of measures to simplify and reduce bureaucracy in tax declarations and the Virtual Private Space (SPV) system, through changes designed to improve communication with taxpayers and increase the efficiency of administrative processes; and combating undeclared work and unfair competition through effective measures that protect compliant companies and ensure a fair competitive environment," the organisation said in a press release.
The talks also focused on strengthening ANAF's institutional capacity in the context of accelerated digitalisation, by ensuring an adequate and professional staffing structure, including consideration of introducing internship programmes for pupils and young people, based on an appropriate legal framework.
