In December 2025, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was estimated at 6.0%, the same value as in November 2025, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data published on Friday.
Women's unemployment rate was higher than that of men by 0.2 percentage points
According to the INS, the number of unemployed (aged 15-74 years) estimated for December 2025 was of 493.7 thousand persons, the same value as in the previous month (493.7 thousand unemployed persons in November), but increasing as compared to the same period of the previous year (462.7 thousand unemployed persons in December 2024).
According to the breakdown by gender, women's unemployment rate was by 0.2 percentage points higher than that of men (the values concerned are 5.9% for men and 6.1% for women).
"The high level of the unemployment rate among young people (15-24 years old) of 26.9%, registered between July and September 2025 still holds attention," the INS release underscored.
The unemployment rate of adult persons (aged 25-74 years) was estimated at 4.6% for December 2025 (4.6% for men and 4.5% for women).
The number of unemployed aged 25-74 years accounted for 72.1% of the total number of unemployed estimated for December 2025.
