Three-month ROBOR index drops to 6.03% per year

The three-month ROBOR index, which is used to calculate the cost of variable-rate consumer loans in lei, dropped on Thursday to 6.01% per year from 6.03% per year in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

At the beginning of last year, the index stood at 5.92% per year.

The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-rate mortgage loans in lei, remained unchanged at 6.14% per year, while the 12-month ROBOR dropped to 6.31% from 6.34% on Wednesday.

As for the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by Government Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, it stands at 5.68% per year, calculated as the arithmetic average of daily interest rates on interbank transactions in the third quarter of 2025.
