The three-month ROBOR index, based on which the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest is calculated, fell on Friday to 6% per year, from 6.01% per year in the previous meeting, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) on Friday.
At the beginning of last year, the index was 5.92% per year.
The six-month index, used in calculating interest on mortgage loans in lei with variable interest, fell to 6.11% per year, from 6.14%, and the 12-month ROBOR fell to 6.29% from 6.31% as of Thursday.
Regarding the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by GEO 19/2019, it is 5.68% per year, being calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the third quarter of 2025.
