The government approved on Thursday Romania's annual contribution to the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCPIL) for the financial year July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026.
According to the Executive, the contribution equals EUR 23,791.26, paid in RON at the National Bank of Romania's exchange rate on the date of payment. The amount will be covered from the state budget through the Ministry of Justice's allocation for this year.
"HCPIL is an international organization dedicated to the codification and unification of private international law, addressing issues such as applicable law in cross-border disputes, court jurisdiction, recognition of judgments and civil-status documents, as well as child protection and international adoptions. Its expenses are borne by member states. Romania's annual contribution, made under Government Ordinance No. 25/2015, supports the country's participation in adopting and implementing these international standards," the government release states.
Romania rejoined HCPIL in 1991.
