Romanian tennis player Gabriela Ruse qualified for the semifinals of the WTA 250 grass tournament in 's-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands), with a total prize pool of 239,212 euros, on Friday, by defeating the Romanian-born Canadian Bianca Andreescu 6-2, 6-4.
Ruse (27 years old, no. 80 WTA), who came from the qualifiers, won after one hour and 18 minutes, in her first duel with Andreescu (24 years old, no. 118 WTA).
Gabriela Ruse had also advanced to the round of 16 against a Canadian representative, Carson Branstine, 6-4, 6-3.
The Romanian secured a cheque for 10,410 euros and 116 WTA points, and in the penultimate act she will face Italy's Elisabetta Cocciaretto (24 years old, no. 123 WTA).
