The Solidarity Package represents a real social necessity, not a topic of political polemic, because Romania needs investments in social services and European programs to reduce poverty, but also immediate support measures for the most vulnerable, argues the Minister of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Petre-Florin Manole.
"Romania needs investments in social services and European programs to reduce poverty. But it also needs immediate support measures for the most vulnerable. Therefore, the Solidarity Package remains a real social necessity, not a topic of political polemic", the minister wrote on his Facebook page on Monday evening.
He explained that the logic of this package is simple: a child with a moderate disability would receive support that increases from 80 to 199 lei, a single mother with three children from 273 to 447 lei, and a pensioner with a pension under 1,500 lei would receive support of 1,000 lei, in two installments, at Easter and Christmas.
He added that in the same program there is also a priority dedicated to services for the elderly, priority P06, with an allocation of approximately 126 million euros for services such as day centers, social housing or housing adaptation.
"The related projects are already in implementation or evaluation and cannot be redirected," the Minister of Labor emphasized.
Florin Manole made clarifications following the statements of the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragos Pislaru, who speaks of a "billion euros for seniors" from European funds, presented as an alternative to the support for low-income pensioners proposed through the Solidarity Package.
