Romanian Cultural Institute launched the 'Culture Does Good' Fund

The Romanian Cultural Institute announced on Thursday the launch of the "Culture Does Good" Fund, a collective mechanism for cultural financing from private funds.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, starting in 2026, the Fund will finance cultural organizations with an impact on local communities in Romania.

In the pilot edition in 2026, the Fund will finance projects within the budget available at the time of selection, offering micro grants of 2,000 euros each and, additionally, the possibility of a public presentation at a Culture Does Good event.

The deadline for submitting applications is February 15, 2026, and the selection of funded projects will be announced on March 1, 2026.

The fund is developed by cultural organizations and companies affiliated with the Culture Does Good movement, which brings together the business milieu and the cultural sector for better collaboration between them and an increased collective impact in Romania.

"The Culture Does Good Fund is a collective mechanism for financing cultural projects from private money, dedicated to supporting 'grassroots' cultural initiatives - projects and organizations that have proven impact in their communities and need resources to continue, develop or transform their cultural activities," the cited source informs.

The fund is funded by the annual contribution of 2,500 euros from Culture Does Good affiliated companies, and the funded projects are proposed by the affiliated cultural organizations. On the culturafacebine.ro website, any company wishing to join the movement and support the further development of the Fund.

The first affiliated members of the CFB movement are the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF), The Institute (Romanian Design Week), Fapte (Jazz in the Park), Arobs, Carturesti, DeLonghi, Komiti, MHP - A Porsche Company, PPC and Wincon, together with the initiators Cluj Cultural Center and Banca Transilvania.
