Leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Sorin Grindeanu said on Thursday in Navodari that he wants Constanta Port to become the main hub for Ukraine's future reconstruction efforts, noting that in every official meeting with international partners - from the United States to Gulf investors - he presents the port as Romania's key strategic asset for this role.

Speaking at a press conference, Grindeanu said he supports the development of port infrastructure, including the long-discussed piers 3 and 4 project, arguing that Constanta must not miss the opportunity to position itself at the center of regional reconstruction logistics. Although traffic has recently declined due to reduced flows from Ukraine, he insisted that expanding port facilities remains essential, agerpres reports.

Asked about the leadership of the Maritime Ports Administration, Grindeanu stated that he does not support political appointments and does not believe the institution should be run through political management.

Speaking as a former Transport minister, Grindeanu outlined several priorities for the region: the construction of the Techirghiol Alternative, a fast road to the southern coast; increased traffic and a more dynamic activity at Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport; improved connectivity between Constanta, the Danube Delta and Tulcea, linking further to the Braila Bridge, the future Braila - Focsani expressway and the Moldova Motorway.

Grindeanu attended on Thursday the PSD Constanta County Political Council meeting at the Navodari Business Center.
