President Nicusor Dan received the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, at Cotroceni Palace on Friday.
The two held both tete-a-tete and official talks.
During the discussion with Fico, Nicusor Dan addressed military cooperation and the transition to green energy.
'We have an interesting bilateral relationship and, I believe, one with prospects for economic growth to our mutual benefit, and I am pleased that the defence industry is among your priorities. There are bilateral opportunities, particularly in this sector, as Romania has a tradition here, and I believe our common interest is to find a way, in terms of competitiveness, for funds allocated to competitiveness to also reach less developed countries. It is also important to strike the right balance between the green transition and competitiveness, to slow down and make this aspiration of the European Union's green transition more economy-friendly,' the head of state said.
Subsequently, Robert Fico was received at Victoria Palace by his Romanian counterpart, Ilie Bolojan.
