President Nicusor Dan on Thursday stated that Romania is now at the beginning of a profound process of national reconciliation at the level of the society and also a process of rebalancing state powers, while mentioning that strengthening the rule of law and anti-corruption fight are the priorities of his current term in office.
"Domestically, the year 2025 was the year in which Romania completed a prolonged electoral cycle, a difficult one, and one in which we had to fight a hybrid war. However, the Romanian democracy managed to pass this maturity test, as we applied the law and ensured the functioning of the democratic institutions. We are now at the beginning of a profound process of national reconciliation at the level of the society and also a process of rebalancing state powers," Nicusor Dan said at the annual meeting with the head of the diplomatic missions accredited to Romania.
The president said that strengthening the rule of law and anti-corruption fight are the priorities of his current term in office, as included in the National Defence Strategy of the Country.
"Only by having an independent and efficient judicial system and an honest and professional administration we will be able to improve the functioning of the state institutions and especially to regain the trust of the citizens in the state institutions," the head of state underscored.
