55.7 percent of Romanians believe that the Social Democratic Party (PSD) should leave the Government, while 37.3 percent think the party should remain in Government, according to a survey conducted by INSCOP Research between 2 and 6 March 2026. A further 7 percent of respondents said they did not know or preferred not to answer.

The research shows that eight out of ten PSD voters want their preferred party to stay in Government.

In contrast to the general population, 81 percent of PSD voters think the party should remain in power. The same view is shared by 52 percent of National Liberal Party (PNL) voters, 46 percent of Save Romania Union (USR) voters and just 19 percent of Alliance for Romanians' Union (AUR) voters.

By contrast, although the majority of the population believes that the PSD should leave the Government, only 17 percent of PSD voters share this view. The idea of the Social Democrats leaving the Government is also supported by 42 percent of PNL voters and 46 percent of USR voters.

The most enthusiastic supporters of PSD's departure are AUR voters, with 79 percent in favour, according to the survey.

The data were collected between 2 and 6 March 2026 and the research method was a questionnaire-based interview, using the CATI (telephone interview) on a sample size of 1,100 people, representative of Romania's non-institutionalized population aged 18 and over, across significant socio-demographic categories (sex, age, occupation).

The maximum permissible error of the data is ą 3 percent, with a confidence level of 95 percent.
