The methods used to intimidate magistrates are subtle, President Nicusor Dan said, adding that he is paying close attention to them and that "any voice in the public space that raises essential issues must be protected."
"What has been said in the public space is that the methods of, let us say, intimidating these magistrates are far more subtle than very direct forms of intimidation and therefore it is obvious that any voice in the public space that raises essential issues must be protected. I made this distinction because the ways in which measures can be taken against them are more subtle and we are paying attention to all of this," the head of state said on Thursday, prior to attending the European Council meeting.
