PM Viorica Dancila: Developing, deepening and expanding Strategic Partnership with USA - a priority objective for Romania

Developing, deepening and expanding the Strategic Partnership with the United States represents a priority objective for Romania, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila said on Thursday. 

In the context of marking 7 years since the adoption of the "Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership for the 21st Century Between the United States of America and Romania", which took place in Washington DC., on September 13, 2011, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila welcomed the excellent level of relations between the two countries, a press release sent to AGERPRES informs. 

"The Strategic Partnership with the USA constitutes a guarantee for Romania's security and a determining factor in the economic and social progress, representing the main pillar of foreign policy and Romania's security, as well as a fundamental element in shaping the strategic profile of our country. Furthermore, the strategic cooperation between Romania and the United States brings an essential contribution for the consolidation of our country's role as a supplier of security and stability, at a regional and global level. Romania's Government is highly committed to developing and deepening all dimensions of this partnership, especially in the fields of defence, security, trade and investments," Prime Minister Viorica Dancila declared. 

On an anniversary moment, the Prime Minister expressed her trust in the further development and thorough deepening of the privileged friendship and collaboration relation that exists between Romania and the United States of America, as well as the special relationship between Romanian and American citizens, based on common values and shared democratic principles, both in the bilateral plan and within the North-Atlantic Alliance, the Government specifies. 

The Strategic Partnership between Romania and the USA was launched in 1997, when the then President of The United States, Bill Clinton visited Bucharest.
